Florida

BP Claims

Assistance

The impact of the BP Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill on the State of Florida has only just begun to be realized. Since the disaster began on April 20th, the beautiful coastal areas of Northwest Florida have experienced toxic oil washing ashore, including Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, Navarre Beach, Fort Walton Beach, Panama City Beach and Perdido Key.

As of July 20th, 2010, the total amount of BP claims filed in Florida was over 30,000, compared to 29,000 for the State of Louisiana. Additional details on the claims procedures for the new Gulf Coast Claims Facility will be made public in the next few weeks and months.

Kenneth Feinberg, administrator of the new and independent Gulf Coast Claims Facility, recently said that persons with an "eligible" claim won't have a need to hire legal services. It will become much more clear within the near future which sorts of claims are thought to be qualified in Florida as the details of the brand new BP claims practices are revealed.

Claims topics that now contain uncertainty include things like losses in property values, lost earnings from corporations and men and women with complex claims and/or compensation paid in cash.

We will try to keep you updated as more information becomes available about Mr. Feinberg's Gulf Coast Claims Facility and the new BP Claims Process.
